While the first tab was essentially correct, this is a much easier way to play my favorite E song. I use the basic structure outlined below and vary it as the mood strikes me.

Basic Rhythm (1 2 + a 3 4 + a) with changes on 1 and 3

Bridge: Chords accent syllables i.e. "she’s ON the PROM-e-NADE…",

"a-NOTH-er CIG-a-RETTE…" each phrase should end on 3,
