XFM E. appearance transcript 19-1-2001
E. co-hosted a show on XFM radio. Paulo from the spunky2 list was so kind to transcribe the whole thing, which can be read here.

Eels appearance on 'The Panel' 19-1-2001
'The Panel' a television program, has released a cd with live acoustic performances from many artists, including the eels. There's a version of 'Mr. E's Beautiful Blues' on the cd, read it here.

E. marries Natasha Kovaleva 8-1-2001
The official eels site posted the official news that E. married his girlfriend, Natasha Kovaleva, a Russian dentist. Read the full news item here. I updated the FAQ with this news.

New daily quotes 4-1-2001
Yes, the daily quotes have been updated. This time with the second half of Beautiful Freak. Sorry for the delay, i was a bit busy eating oliebollen ;-)

Eels chart positions 4-1-2001
Niels and Charlotte from the Spunky2 mailing list have posted some facts about eels chart positions:

  • Mr. E's Beautiful Blues was NR. 103 on the 'most requested songs' list on radio channel XFM
  • In that same list, Susan's House was on NR. 47
  • The 'Independent critics' named Mr. E's Beautiful Blues as their sixth best single of the year
  • The Belgian radio station Studio Brussels had Flyswatter on number 18 of their list 'De Afrekening'. Which is a list where listeners can vote for their favourite single.
  • On that same station, the list of the most voted singles for the past 10 years had Last Stop : This Town listed very high.

High bids at Ebay.com for 'Oh, What a Beautiful Morning' 4-1-2001
'Oh, What a Beautiful Morning', the new eels live compilation is selling for high prices on the auction site Ebay.com. The CD was sold for a price over 30 dollars. However, to my knowledge the CD is still available via eelsdirect.com.

New tabs posted 4-1-2001
Tom Carr, one of the regular tab contributors to 3speed, has mailed me some tabs again. Read his transcriptions for 'Cancer for the Cure', 'Cheater's Guide', 'Flyswatter' and the OWABM version of 'Daisies of the Galaxy'.
