I was watching MTV the other day and there was this program on, called "Lado
B" (that's portuguese for B-Side) it is a kind of (very) stripped-down "120
Minutes", where they show clips of alternative bands and stuff that don't
usually play in radio/mtv here.
Then there was this bit of the program where the "vj" (he's not a real vj, he
was singer for a pop band in the 80's hehe) talks about new releases, and then
suddenly I see the Daisies Of The Galaxy cover on my tv set!!! I don't see it
being released here (the only eels release here was BF), but at least it's being
talked about.
The guy said something like this: "eels are an american alternative band that
make a very good pop sound, sometimes being new-wave pop, sometimes a bit
folkish, kinda Bob Dylan... this album is getting excellent reviews in Europe
and the States and can be considered already one of the best albums of 2000"
