This was my first Eeels Gig and for my opinion it was fantastic, the first one here in Austria was 3 years ago. In one of the important Newspapers Der Standard the write really good critics. On our local alternative Radio Station called FM4 they bring the Eels concerts directly on air on Saturday evening I recorded it on CD and the Sound is really brilliant. For my opinion it was a really amazing gig. On Fm4 they sound was like a mixture between Beach Boys and Van Dyke Parks.
Eels are playing before Nine Inch Nails and after Dynamite de Luxe (a german Hip Hip Band) and for the audience really liked this mixture, and I think they Eels liked it also. I was for short Time Backstage only one little story I see Mark Everett ordering his dinner and drinks on the bar and give autographs for two guys, Butch drums on his bongos and big drums between the Dynamite de Luxe and Such a Surge Gig (German Crossover Band) it looks really funny.
I think they were really relaxed.
